Lehman Brothers failed and the government bailed out AIG two years ago, and things haven’t been the same since. It’s been a calamity for America and the world. Yet we continue to be flooded with chaotic ads and noise by some the same people and companies who orchastrated the near collapes of the American economy!
California Prop 23, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac have a lot in common with what’s wrong in this country. Wall street and big oil trying to continue to spin the message to get people to vote on important environmental and energy issues big oil has intentionally clouded with the sole purpose of lining their own pockets.
California prop 23 is a ballot iniative this November with some carefully crafted wording designed to promote it as a jobs bill. The bill was iniated and is supported by out of state oil companies. Do I need to say any more? Jobs bill? Big oil? Yea, I am sure that out of state big oil is concerned about putting California back to work. They are only concerned with one thing and that is to use scare tacticts to get you to vote for something that only benifits out of state big oil company. I suppose you could be suspicious that some of those same companies have large environmental fines pending and that is why they want to jump on the recession to get people to vote to turn back the clock. Why would you think that? After all, look at the stellar record of big oil looking out for us in the gulf. Yea, probably just a coincidence.
Wall street Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac put the brakes on PACE solar home financing products. The PACE green energy funding program has helped hundreds of homeowners afford solar energy systems and energy efficient retrofits. The giant wall street lenders are concerned with the PACE loans standing in frount of their legal claims. Hooey. If they had any concern about anything except lining their pockets they would never have supported the prime sub lending that nearly collapsed the world economy.
Since the goverment (we the people) now own Fannie and Freddie, they need to get behind PACE and the renewable energy jobs the programs create.
This country needs to break up Fannie and Freddie and put the money in local banks where they can do some good. We bailed out the banks and they got richer, used the money to buy other banks, got stronger on our backs and refused to make small business loans. Solar and renewable energy jobs can make a substantial contribution to reviving our local economies and putting good paying local jobs back in play.
Too big to fail? “A man who has never gone to school may steal from a freight car; but if he has a university education, he may steal the whole railroad.” Theodore Roosevelt. Roosevelt would also tell you that if wall street banks or any company is too big to fail, they are too big to exist and he would have broken them up.
Wall street banks and big oil have nearly crashed the American dream dragging us into global conflicts and chewing through our childrens future. 40% of our military budget is spent defending foreign oil fields.
I agree with the tea party movement on one point, it IS time to take our country back. But NOT back to the politics of the last couple of decades that got us to this point.
Take ACTION! Engage in the issue of PACE financing and only vote for a congressional represenative that will represent us and not big energy or wall street. Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) programs help local governments bring new green careers jobs, energy bill savings, and environmental benefits to their communities. But they are facing a serious threat from Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac & the FHFA that could render the programs, and their many benefits, dead in the water. Can you urge your Congressional representatives to pass legislation that puts PACE back on track?
Vote NO on Prop 23 and support renewable clean energy and you will be supporting a future for our children in America.
Plow through the noise and look past the fear tactics you are being exposed to. Renewable energy in all its forms matter. Solar wind and other forms of clean energy make local jobs. Its that simple.
